ENHANCED COLLISION SAFETY Forte's platform provides the strength and protection that's needed to help maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment in frontal, side and rear impacts. HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL To help keep you from rolling backward when starting off on a steep hill, Hill Assist Control (HAC) automatically maintains braking pressure for up to two seconds after you take your foot off the brake pedal – enough time to shift your foot from the brake to the accelerator pedal. LATCH SYSTEM Forte is equipped with an industry-standard LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) safety system that makes it easier to securely install a compatible child safety seat in any of the three rear seating positions. ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ABS provides the foundation for Forte's active safety systems. It helps provide greater vehicle control when stopping in difficult conditions, such as wet, slippery or snow-covered roads – and in severe braking situations. SIX STANDARD AIRBAGS Forte protects you and your passengers with advanced dual-front, side-impact and curtain airbags with finely tuned sensors for the best possible performance. In combination, they help protect against head and chest injuries in moderate to severe impacts. 1 TRACTION CONTROL Forte's standard Traction Control System (TCS) senses wheel spin during acceleration and uses engine-torque reduction and pulsed braking to slow the spinning wheel or wheels, transferring torque to the wheels with the most traction. VEHICLE STABILITY MANAGEMENT Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) monitors Forte's response to your throttle, brake and steering inputs in tight corners and during evasive-driving manoeuvres. If your steering input and the vehicle's response are out of sync, VSM intervenes to help restore stability through precise brake, electric steering and engine control adjustments. REARVIEW CAMERA 5 Standard on all Forte EX and SX models, the rearview camera gives you a view of objects and obstacles behind you when you're backing up. Images are displayed on the LCD screen of the UVO system or navigation system, depending on how your vehicle is equipped. SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS Seat belt pretensioners automatically tighten the driver and front passenger's seat belts in the event of a collision to help prevent or reduce injury.
