JL8 will be going on hiatus for a few months.

I promise that it’ll return, likely in September or October. I just need to take some time to get my feet back under me. For nearly 9 months now I’ve felt less like a hamster running on a wheel and more like a hamster getting flung around by the wheel, and I feel like the quality of my work has suffered as a result. So I’m going to take some time away, get things sorted, try getting a healthy number of strips knocked out and then come back once I have a sizable buffer that’ll take some of the stress away from the weekly grind. Also, I just need to stretch myself out and maybe explore some other concepts. Whether or not I’ll even publish that stuff (on my more personal pages), I’m not sure.

In the interim, there will be posts about convention appearances as well as any images I produce that would be of interest as a result of commissions or whatnot. Maybe a new print or something. Either way, I’ll try not to spam you guys with non-strip posts.

I want to thank everyone who’s always been super supportive of the strip, and an extra thank you to all the folks who’ve been so understanding about when I need to do stuff like this (which has generally been everyone–I’m very lucky for that). Like I said, this certainly isn’t goodbye. Just a “hey, hang on, I’ll be right back (in a few months).”
